On Tuesday Justice Sisi Khampepe passed a judgement against former President Jacob Zuma which has now created chaos in Nkandla as Amabutho armed with sticks and shields are now clashing with the police.

Amabutho and the uMkhonto WeSizwe veterans are some of the groups who have vowed to rally behind the former President citing that he has done nothing wrong therefore must not go to prison.

In her judgement she said the former President Jacob Zuma must hand himself over to the police to serve a 15 month sentence. Zuma was found guilty of the crime of contempt of court.

Zuma refused to appear before the State Capture Commission of Inquiry chaired by Justice Raymond Zondo. He had asked for Zondo to recuse himself in order for him to appear before the Commission.

Zuma continued ignoring calls by Zondo’s Commission to appear before the panel and answer questions related to the State Capture. He cited health problems as some of the reasons why he was not coming to the court.

Left with no other choice of getting Zuma to appear before the Commission, Judge Raymond Zondo had to ask the Constitutional Court to intervene.

Zuma is being accused of allowing graft corruption and the plunder of state resources during his term as the President of South Africa.
