Fans of radio personality Felix Hlophe were saddened after he spent a night behind bars at Westiville prison in Durban.
Hlophe was arrested during his show on Gagasi FM. The incident happened on the 8th of June. He is a presenter of a breakfast show at the station.
The arrest occurred at a time when Gagasi FM and Hlophe were running a crime awareness campaign following the alarming statistics of crime in South Africa.
On the 9th of June, the radio personality hosted the show while at Westville prison. Inmates also got a chance to share their views on the matter and their experiences behind prison walls.

The Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo confirmed that Hlophe was arrested for the crime awareness campaign.
