Sunday Times reported that there is a group of clergymen and professionals who are calling for former Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng to run for the presidency in the 2024 general elections.

A group known as The Independent Citizens Movement revealed that they had talks with Mogoeng and urged him to avail himself as a Presidential candidate after his retirement.

The calls came after a video went viral where  Mogoeng Mogoeng was telling the audience that if God wants him to lead the country he will make himself available.

Mojapelo, who is the leader of the group told the publication that they were going to formally ask the Justice to be their Presidential candidate.

He said Mogoeng was still waiting for a clear signal from God but it is promising. Mogoeng has made it clear to the public that he hates corruption. He is on record urging people to become ethical leaders by ending corruption.

Mogoeng Mogoeng is a South African retired judge. He served as the  ChiefJustice of South Africa from 8 September 2011 to 11 October 2021.
