The Passanger Rail Agency  Of South Africa (PRASA), has welcomed the arrival of the new Test Train No 1 (T1) at the Wolverton depot.

The first unit will replace the old Metro-rail fleet over the next 20 years.

PRASA plans to buy 600 trains, each with six cars (3600 total) .

The first 20 trains will be built in Brazil, with the remainder to be built at a new facility to be built In South Africa.
