Sunday World reports that popular celebrity, Thando Thabethe and her producer, Tumelo Maimela almost died during liposuction and butt lift procedures at Vivari spa.
The newspaper reports that Tumelo was eventually admitted in hospital after she suffered heart failure due to massive blood loss.
Thando refused to speak to the newspaper after her complaints to the Health Professionals Councils Of South Africa (HPCSA) were dismissed.
In her complaint, Tumelo said the nurses at Vivari were not registered and did not know how to put on the painkiller drip , resulting in her experiencing pain for 8 hours.
The surgery was part of the reality show, Unstoppable, which features Thando.
Vivari is now suing Tumelo for R5 million for defamation and an additional R450 000 after they canceled the agreement to do the surgery in exchange for airtime on Unstoppable
