Segalese born, American based musician Akon lied about the living standards and the gap between the rich and the poor in South Africa.

In an interview he said the richest people in South Africa were Black and that the poorest were white. The majority of Black South Africans are living in poverty.

Akon also mentioned that the blacks lived in the richest suburbs whilst the whites lived in the poorest suburbs in cities like Johannesburg and CapeTown.

The reality is that the poorest in South Africa are blacks while the richest are whites who control the economy.

Blacks live in the poorest conditions in places like Tembisa, Khayelitsha, while the whites who are the richest live in places like Sandton the richest mile square in Africa.

The whole of CapeTown’s richest suburbs and Johannesburg’s richest suburbs including in other cities like Durban and Pretoria, the whites are the ones who live in those areas and own the properties which they rent out to middle class Black South Africans.
