Gayton Mckenzie to step down as Karoo Mayor

Karoo District Mayor, Gayton Mckenzie has announced that he will be stepping down at the end of April 2023.

MacKenzie has been praised for turning around the municipality, which he pledged to turn into a Dubai in the middle of the desert.

Mckenzie delivered most of his projects through funds raised privately as the municipality did not have any money.

He also restructured the management of the municipality and fired some corrupt officials.

Mckenzie is the leader of the Patriotic Alliance Party.
