Former Joburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse Vows to Fight for Her Position

Councillors in the City of Johannesburg have voted to have a motion of no confidence against Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse tabled and voted on.

Of the 270 councillors in council, 139 councillors voted to have the motion tabled and voted on. Phalatse was replaced by Dada Morero on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mpho Phalatse’s application to stop the motion of no confidence was struck off the court role with costs.

Phalatse vowed to fight for her position with support from the Democratic Alliance. She said her removal was unjustified and it was not fair for the citizens of Johannesburg.
