There was excitement in Nkandla as former President Jacob Zuma was casting his vote in the ongoing local government elections. Crowds cheered as Zuma arrived to make his mark in the local elections.

The local residents in Nkandla spoke about crippling effects of service delivery in the Northern KwaZuluNatal town.

Community members said the lack of basic services has severely affected households and businesses. Zuma’s first wife Sizakele Khumalo also came to cast her vote before the arrival of Msholozi.

Sizakele Khumalo spoke about the poor service delivery that is affecting the local residents in the area. Jacob Zuma was last month released on medical parole.

The former head of state was serving his 15 months jail term which had been handed by the judge after he defied the Constitutional Court ruling compelling him to appear before the Zondo Commission.

Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma has made it public knowledge that his wish is to run for the presidency of South Africa.
