A few days ago former president Jacob Zuma was found guilty of contempt of court and he was ordered to hand himself to the police within five days to serve his 15 months jail time.

The judgement was passed by acting Chief Justice Sisi Kampempe on Tuesday.

Jacob Zuma’s supporters descended on Nkandla, KwaZuluNatal to show support for the embattled former president. They believe that Zuma did nothing wrong.

Hundreds of supporters carrying sticks and traditional Zulu battle shields made a show at the Nkandla residence to shield the former president from going to prison.

Zuma defied the constitutional court which had compelled him to appear at the State Capture of Inquiry Commission chaired by deputy Justice Raymond Zondo where he was to answer questions in relation to state capture.

He is also facing charges of corruption related to the late 1990s arms deal where he allegedly received bribes from a French arms manufacturer Thales.
