Popular South African entertainment industry personality, Phat Joe, who worked with Sasa Klaas (Sarona Motlagodi), who died last week in a helicopter crash in Botswana , has totally ignored the news of her death.
Sasa Klaas, who started off as a DJ on Phat Joe’s show which was broadcast on Moja Love, called Highly Inappropriate, last week revealed that Phat Joe was her hero and her mentor.
However, in a sign of deeper underlying issues, Sarona had deleted all her Facebook posts for the period she was in South Africa, when she worked with Phat Joe.
Sarona revealed in the interview that life was not easy for her when she was trying to make it in South Africa, and she was forced to return to her native Botswana when the lockdown began.
Sarona revealed that she would sometimes go to bed without eating while in South Africa, and did not have everything handed to her as many people would like to believe.
Other South African celebrities have also largely ignored news of Sasa’s death.
The family of Sarona, also appear to have been unhappy with the way she was treated by Phat Joe and Moja Love.
When playing the pictures of Sarona’s life, the family did not have any pictures of Phat Joe, focusing instead on other celebrities.
Other brands such as African Bank, which worked with Sasa, were also silent on her death.
However, Beefeater Botswana, for whom she was an Ambassador, posted a message of condolences on their Facebook page.
Sasa will be buried today in Gaborone, where her body is spending the night at her mother, Anna Mokgethi ‘s home.
