A lot of people are concerned about Somizi and the fact that Mohale stands to gain a lot if they go through with the divorce and that Somizi might lose a lot of things he worked for.
If the two were married in community of property this is what Mohale will gain from the divorce. Being married in community of property means that all assets including houses, cars, money in bank accounts and all the debts from the marriage are shared in joint estate between both spouses.
After the marriage is dissolved the assets are divided equally between the two parties. Mohale moved in with Somizi soon after their marriage and this might mean besides cars he doesn’t own a home and much property.
Mohale came with nothing and even though he was listed as a model, actor and student, he only started appearing on TV after meeting Somizi. Somizi owns a house in Zimbali worth R6 million.
He also has a house in Johannesburg and another in CapeTown. He also owns several luxury cars. He recently launched his book and he has his own cooking show among other things. His networth was reported to be R100 million.
This means Mohale stands to get half of Somizi’s property and R50 million. This is if they are married in community of property.
