Self-proclaimed Malawian Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s private jet is reported to have been seized by the State.
The State believes that the Gulfstream jet was bought using proceeds from the crimes which include fraud and money laundering.
The Bushiri’s are facing charges of corruption in South Africa amounting to millions of Rands. The couple fled to their homeland, Malawi after they were released on R200 000 bail each by a Pretoria Magistrate Court.
They claimed that they were not safe in South Africa and also that they believe they will not get a fair trial in South Africa. The couple appeared before the Lilongwe Magistrate’s Court today.
Bushiri’s networth is believed to be around US$ 150 million. He owns a tourism company in South Africa and many other investments in that country. Some of his vehicles and properties were seized by the State last year.
