Amarharhabe Queen Noloyiso Sandile will be laid to rest today in King William’s town. She died after a short illness at Cecilia Makiwane hospital.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared a special official funeral for the late Queen whom he described as a bastion of traditional values.

The Queen will be laid to rest at the Mnqesha Great Place in Eastern Cape.

A family representative revealed that the family was devastated. They also appealed to the Zulu Royal family to accept that it was not anyone’s fault but God’s will.

Queen Noloyiso Sandile was King Goodwill Zwelithini’s sister and was the Queen regent of Amarharhabe Kingdom for nine years following the passing on of her husband King Maxhoba Sandile.

She was acting in capacity of her son the Prince who might be crowned King. Over 300 headmen from across the kingdom attended the funeral.
