Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi had the opportunity to be on Trevor Noah daily show. She talked about the negative comments she has been receiving from people after she won Miss South Africa in August.
She has also been receiving negative comments about her skin colour. Zozibini never retaliated, she however took it as an opportunity to educate people.
Zozibini said this negativity got worse when it went international, with one person giving a very hateful and racist comment on her picture which she posted whilst in one of her hotel rooms-
“This photo is just so black, it’s black as you are Miss Black Ugly South Africa” . This was after people found out that she was competing for Miss Universe.
According to Zozibini, beauty comes in different colours and forms and people should start seeing things differently and embrace it as well
Apart from being excited to take her campaign, which is the movement against gender based violence further Miss Zozi is even more excited that she will be travelling the world as she has never had such an opportunity availed to her before.
She also mentioned that this was a great opportunity for her to bring generational wealth into her family as she grew up in one of the impoverished places in South Africa.
