Dr Matthew Lani, a social media influencer has been trending on social media for claiming to be a Doctor using fake documents.
He is 22 years old and apparently he finished Matric at the age of 16 after skipping Grades 4, 6 and 8. Matthew says that he finished Medical School at the age of 21.
In addition, he also says his name is not listed on the “Health Professions Council of South Africa” as he uses different names on social media.
Doctors who were studying at Wits University at the same time as he says he was, said they don’t remember him.
He has been featured on radio and television shows offering all a variety of medical advice on getting clear skin like him, sorting out STDs and even what to do when eating snails for the first time.
He also shares the same advice on his popular Tik-Tok account. Cambridge International College and Wits University issued statements saying Lani was lying.
