The military has ousted Gabon President Ali Bongo in a coup de tat. President Ali Bongo took the reigns from his father Omar Bongo in 2009.

The coup comes after Bongo won a third term in a disputed election where he received over 60 percent of the vote.

Omar Bongo was President of Gabon for 42 years, ruling from 1967 to 2009. Blogger Man’s NOT Barry Roux shared on X.
