The KwaZulu-Natal community of Nzimakwe is demanding more help from the government to end taxi violence.

Four people were shot dead last weekend, two of whom were female passengers caught in the crossfire.

The incident came a day after a taxi driver was shot while in a taxi with his girlfriend. Earlier two passengers and a driver were shot dead by occupants of another vehicle at a give way.

The motive behind the shooting was not revealed. A high level government delegation visited the area in July including Minister of Police Bheki Cele and the Police Commissioner.
