The funeral of an 81 year old woman in Kagiso, in the West Rand, turned tragic after three people died and 86 were hospitalised after attending the funeral.
A family spokesman, Lucky Motaung, told the Star Newspaper that the food that was eaten at the funeral was bought by a relative, who is refusing to say where she bought the food.
Writing on Facebook, one of the people who attended the funeral, Lerato Seokane, paid tribute to his friend who died at the funeral.
We went to the funeral on Saturday and after we eat as normal not knowing the food had food poisoning also not knowing is for the last time with you my brother in the Lord.You and your wife you dropped us home from that funeral and said will see each other at church tomorrow.
