Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch and Nation, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi this morning addressed the nation on the passing of his majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.

He said the King’s body will be conveyed to the Palace, hopefully this afternoon, where he will lie in state for a couple of days so that anyone in the nation will come and view while observing Covid-19 protocols.

Buthelezi said the President Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize were among government officials who have since sent their condolences to the Monarch.

Buthelezi added that burial arrangements for the late King will be announced in due course. The King passed on at hospital today due to high glucose levels at the age of 72.

He died at iNkosi Albert Luthuli Central hospital in Durban. He became King on the death of his father, King Cyprian Bhekuzulu kaSolomon, in 1968.
