Economic Freedom Fighters deputy leader, Floyd Shivambu’s assault trial has been postponed.

Shivambu failed to avail himself to the Magistrate’s Court which was scheduled in Cape Town yesterday.

The  National Prosecuting Authority, spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said the matter was postponed to the 2nd of June 2021.

Shivambu is alleged to have choked and hit journalist Adrian de Kock at the parliamentary precinct in March 2018.

The incident happened in full view of other journalists and parliamentary stuff as De Kock was trying to get a comment regarding the hearing of former Cape Town mayor, Patricia De Lille.
