The Sowetan Newspaper reports that an employee of South Africa President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has approached the CCMA to get his job back after he was fired after returning from 10 days of self quarantine.
Bennet Mashinini was a security guard at Ramaphosa’s Ntabanyoni farm in Badplaas, Mpumalanga.
Mashinini started self quarantine on 12 December and returned to work on 23 December.
A Disciplinary hearing was held on 7 January and Mashinini was fired on 23 January, two days after he was advised of the guilty verdict.
The manager at Ramaphosa’s farm, Ben Molotsi, told the Sowetan that Mashinini misrepresented facts and did not inform the company that he received negative results on 17 December.
He said Mashinini neglected his duty to inform his employer that he had received his test results.
