An Eastern Cape ex-policewoman, Nomvula Isabella Zodwa (57),  who confessed to killing the mother of her boyfriend Mandla Toba (55) and his new wife, was this week denied bail at the Bisho High Court until March, when the case will resume.

The Sunday Times reports that Nomvula confessed to hiring three hitmen after a Sangoma she consulted told her to kill Mandla ‘s mother Boniswa Toba (73) and his new wife, Cingiswa Mila (41).

Zodwa and Mandla had been in a relationship for 11 years when she found out he had secretly married Cingiswa with the blessing of Boniswa.

It is alleged that she approached a Sangoma from Port Elizabeth with a request to bewitch Cingiswa. The Sangoma, however, told her to kill Cingiswa.
