City Press has exclusively revealed that Mary Bushiri was the mastermind behind Bushiri’s Forex scam and made 20 000 transfers from their business and personal accounts in a single month.
The newspaper revealed that the Assets Forfeiture unit (AFU) moved to preserve the cople’s assets after they suspected that they were disposing of their assets.
This included cars and cash, with Bushiri suspected of having moved over R16 Million to Malawi in his private jet. He also reportedly moved his luxury cars to Malawi worth millions of dollars.
Bushiri’s co-accused Willah Mudolo, reportedly also moved millions to Zambia to fund his presidential campaign.
The newspaper also revealed how Malawi President, Lazarus Chakwera, used to be a Pastor at one of Bushiri’s churches.
There was speculation that Chakwera’s presidential campaign was funded by Bushiri.
