Police Minister Bheki Cele together with National Police Commissioner, General Khehla Sitole held a press conference this morning on the current developments in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case.
Sitole revealed that three of the people that were arrested were not in the house during the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.
On the night of the shooting in 2014, there were 7 people in the house where Meyiwa was visiting his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, at her mother’s house.
Media reports this weekend revealed that five people have been arrested for the murder of the late popular soccer star in a R250 000 hit. However, it was not revealed who ordered the hit.
Five people were arrested over the weekend, meaning that two of the people who were arrested this weekend were in the house during the murder.
General Sitole refused to disclose if any of the suspects are suing the state. However, he revealed that more arrests will be made soon.
