You Magazine talked to the woman who wrote the lyrics for the popular international hit song, Jerusalema, Nomcebo Zikode (35).
Zikode revealed that she is married to her husband, Selwyn, and they have 2 children together , Ziyanda (14) and Mnotho (5).
Nomcebo told You Magazine that they had a traditional wedding a few years ago and she is looking forward to having a big white wedding that everyone can see, after the wild success of Jerusalema.
Nomcebo said she grew up in Hammarsdale, KZN. Her family could not afford to pay her school fees and after winning a singing competition at Ukhozi FM, she left school to start singing.
In 2005, she studied computers at Havatech College in Johannesburg where she met Selwyn.
In 2010, she collaborated on a song with DJ Ganyani, emazulwini, which was a big hit. You can watch the video of emazulwini below.
She went on to become a backing vocalist for Zahara, Mafikizolo, and Nhlanhla Nciza among others.
