The City Press reports that Hebert Msagala, a former Transnet Capital Projects Executive, has lost 35 cars and many properties after they were attached by the Hawks.

Msagala is accused of corruptly receiving R18 Million from a Transnet supplier, Sipho Sithole, of IGS Engineering Consulting as kickbacks between 2015 and 2016.

IGS was paid R160 Million by Transnet.

The extend of the fraud was revealed in a report by Nexus Forensic Services. Msagala was suspended in September 2019 after the release of the report.

During the time Msagala was employed by Transnet, his annual salary was just under R 4 Million.
