Former Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba’s wife Norma Gigaba appeared in court at the Hatfield Magistrate Court this morning after spending Friday night behind bars.
Norma was arrested for assaulting her husband and also damaging a Mercedes Benz G Wagon worth about R3 million.
The matter was postponed to September the 14th and will be heard in Pretoria as Norma now faces a possible trial.
According to Newzroom Afrika, Norma Gigaba has ropped in Advocate Dali Mpofu and Advocate Thembeka Ngcukaitobi to help with the matter.
Norma’s lawyer Victor Nkwashu said it was traumatic for Norma to spend a night behind bars during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He also added that the Hawks were wrong in handling the issue of Norma because she had not wronged the state. He also slammed them for charging her with crimen injuria.
