The National Lockdown has had a strain effect on the local musicians as it has cut off their mainstream income which was live performances.
In a recent interview Candy Tsa Mandebele revealed that she was now relying on only R600 from her old mother to buy groceries.
Times have been tough for Candy that she even applied for relief funds which were set for artists but she was not lucky to get one.
She also said that Bathabile Dlamini sent her a food voucher to help her through the difficult times.
The good news however is that Candy will be joining Skeem Saam on SABC 1. She will potray a feisty 50 year old woman whose return to Turfloop after so many years sends shock waves around the township.
