Minister Gwede Mantashe Hospitalised Due To Covid-19

Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe has been hospitalised after testing positive for coronavirus.

Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu confirmed that Mantashe was receiving medical care.

The presidency said the minister was advised by his doctor to seek admission to hospital.

It was also revealed that Mantashe’s wife, Nolwandle also tested positive and is in isolation together with his husband. They said the minister would continue working from home.

Meanwhile, the government said Mantashe instructed those working in his private office to get tested.
