
Sunday Times reports that Nokwanda Ndlovu (23), pretended to be a student doctor and worked at 5 public hospitals over a period of 2 years (November 2017 to December 2020).
Ndlovu passed herself off as a Wits Medical intern and was only arrested for fraud after she was reported by a childhood friend.
Nokwanda, after being arrested and released on bail, went on to treat patients at a small clinic in Pietemaritzburg.

Nokwanda was arrested and the court granted her R1000 bail because she was heavily pregnant.
Nurses who worked with Nokwanda said they knew something was wrong as she was incompetent and lacked basic knowledge.
Nokwanda’s mother, who lives in Jozini, confirmed that Nokwanda has never studied anything related to medicine.
Nokwanda lied to nurses that she was an opharn and was allowed to lived at the doctors quarters at Nkandla hospital because she said she had nowhere to stay.
