Khulane Morule is an award winning Motswako rapper popularly known by his stage name Khuli Chana. He was born on the 27th of August in 1982 in Mabatho in the North West Province of South Africa.

His love for rapping was evident at a young age. He started off as a member of the duo group called Hazzadazz with Kay-G. He later joined the group Murape in 2005 with Kay-G and Towdee.

After the group’s two albums Khuli Chana decided to go solo. His debut solo album “Motswako Originator” was released in 2009. He went on to win the Channel O Best New Comer Award. In 2012, he released his second album, titled “Lost In Time. The album was a success featuring AKA and Reason.

‘Lost In Time’ won the Best Collaboration Award in 2012 at the South African Hip-hop Awards as well as the 2013 Metro FM Music Awards. He also won Album of the Year, Best Male Artist of the Year and Best Hip-hop Album in 2013.

In 2014, his song won Best Hit Single and Best Music Video at the 13th Annual Metro FM Awards. He was also nominated for Best International Act at the Black Canadian Awards.

After his album, ‘Lost In Time’, Khuli Chana did not release any other album. In 2013 his hand was shot when his car was shot at by the police (SAPS) after failing to stop at a roadblock. He lost control of the car and crashed into an embarkment.

It was reported that the incident weighed heavily on his mental and emotional health. He even revealed that the SAPS saga changed his life. Last year he released his new album titled,”Planet Of The Have Nots”.
