Bafana Bafana legend Aaron Mokoena (39) has reportedly beaten his girlfriend so badly that she had to be hospitalised.
Mokoena beat the woman after parking his car under a bridge after they had an argument after a night out.
The Sowetan reports that Makoena appeared in court on Friday after attacking his girlfriend Omphemetse Mashego (40) on February 26.
Mashego reported the matter on the night of the assault on 22 February but Makoena was only found on 26 February when he handed himself over to the police.
Mashego was hospitalised for days after the assault.
Mokoena Captained Bafana Bafana in the 2010 World Cup and also played for popular English Clubs like Portsmouth and Backburn Rovers.
