In the early hours of 10 May 2026, a South African police task team descended on an upmarket apartment block in Houghton, Johannesburg, searching for Major-General Feroz Khan.

2021 – R700-million cocaine bust, Aeroton, Johannesburg

  • Multiple police officers are arrested following the discovery of a large drug consignment.

  • Khan’s name appears repeatedly during proceedings of the Madlanga Commission and the Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee investigating Crime Intelligence and secret-service fund abuse.

  • Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya describes a “factional war” within SAPS between a group aligned with Mkhwanazi and another aligned with Khan.

  • Khan is not called to testify.


March 2026 – Public Interest SA calls for suspension

  • Public Interest SA demands Major-General Feroz Khan’s immediate suspension.

    • Intimidation (alleged incident involving MK Party parliamentarian Sibonelo Nomvalo)

10 May (early morning): Police reportedly break down doors at a separate apartment in the same complex – belonging to another man named Firoz – after mistaking it for Khan’s unit. Tenants are reported traumatised.

10 May (08:12 GMT): Journalist Yusuf Abramjee posts first update stating police have now located Khan’s apartment and that the general is at home.

10 May (08:24 GMT): Abramjee publishes a detailed explanatory thread titled “Who is Khan?” , outlining the full history of allegations and counter-claims.
