Popular South African Singer, Kelly Khumalo has revealed that she dropped out of school when she was in grade 9 after moving to Gauteng from KZN. She said she ran away from her mother and went to her father’s house.
Speaking on the L-Tido YouTube Channel, Kelly said she has ADHD and she can not sit down and do anything for more than one hour.
She said after running away from school, she went to her father’s house after which she went away to her step sister’s mother’s house (who was no longer married to her father).
Kelly used the time when she was away from home to join a choir and attempted to kick off her music career.
When she went back to her mother, she was introduced to her new dad ( The man who was dating her mother) and he is the one who gave her money for a star search.
Kelly explained how the “Virgin” narrative came about. While speaking to a producer, she told him that she would not live with a man before marriage. The producers then said she was a virgin and she said she ran with that narrative.
A boyfriend proposed to her on an online shoe and she accepted. The episode is online.
Kelly revealed that when she looks at some of the guys se has dated she is shocked. She was dating from a broken place. He criteria is financial stable, healed and spiritually aligned. Kelly revealed that she has dated a broke man before and she will never do it again.
