Aaron Motsoaledi Has Granted Zimbabweans Two Year Exemption Permits

The Minister of Home Affairs in South Africa Dr Aaron Motsoaledi briefed the media on the 1st of December 2023 regarding the Exemption Permits granted to foreign nationals living in the country.

Motsoaledi has granted Exemption Permits to atleast 178 000 Zimbabweans living in South Africa by a further two years.

The same was done for atleast 54 000 Lesotho Nationals. The Permits have been extended until 29 November 2025.

Motsoaledi has been to court fighting for the cancellation of the Exemption Permits which came into effect during former President Jacob Zuma’s tenure in office more than ten years ago.
