In June 2023, footballer Thembinkosi Lorch was found guilty of assulting his ex-girlfriend Nokuphiwa Mathithibala.
The Orlando Pirates star appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for his sentencing.
Lorch who has a one year old baby with actress Natasha Thahane was found guilty after Mathithibala provided medical evidence.
He allegedly strangled and beat her up while pinning her against the ground following an argument.

The footballer’s 3 year sentence was suspended on condition he refrains from committing any crime for 5 years. Lorch paid R100 000 for his freedom.
