Former EThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede Back in Court

The corruption trial of former EThekwini Municipality Mayor Zandile Gumede resumed today at the Durban High Court.

The other accused include former Durban City Manager Sipho Nzuza, former exco member Mondli Mthembu, and former deputy head of Durban Solid Waste Robert Abbu.

Sandile Ngcobo who was deputy head of supply chain management faces several charges including conspiracy to commit corruption, money laundering, racketeering and more.

Gumede has been receiving support from her backers in KwaZulu-Natal and from the ruling party ANC who all maintain that she is innocent.
