Koko Matshela, who is the former CEO of Eskom was granted bail of R300 000 at the Middlesburg Magistrate’s Crimes Court in Mpumalanga.

The co-accused Thabo Mokwena, Watson Seswai, and Hlupheka Sithole were also granted bail of R300 000.

The bail conditions included that all the accused should surrender their passports.

Koko’s wife Mosima and two stepdaughters Koketso Aren and Thato Choma aswell as a lawyer Johannes Coetzee were granted R70 000 each.

All the accused are facing charges of corruption, fraud and money laundering.

The suspects were arrested on Wednesday in connection with a R2 billion Eskom tender scandal related to the Kusile power plant’s construction.
