Sarafina is a musical drama film which was released in 1992. It is based on Mbongeni Ngema’s 1987 musical of the same name.

A young black South African Sarafina played by Leleti Khumalo was struggling for freedom during the apartheid.

Her anti government and anti racist views became more intense when her teacher, a role played by American actress Whoopi Goldberg was arrested for protesting.

The film is viewed as the best film ever produced in SouthAfrica. Entertainment commentator Kgopolo Phil Mphela shared more details on his Twitter page.
