Germany ambassador to South Africa, Andreas Paschke, has said the embassy is in close contact with South African authorities regarding the murder of a German tourist in Mpumalanga on Monday.
Minister of Tourism Lindiwe Sisulu has condemned the murder.
The tourist was shot and killed while travelling with a group of people to the Kruger National Park.
Tourism is one of the hardest hit sectors by the Covid-19 pandemic. Authorities have promised to do all they can to ensure the safety of tourists.
