Eskom has recovered R30 million which was unlawfully paid to Brian Molefe’s pension benefit of the Eskom’s pension and Provident fund.

On Wednesday Eskom said the money had been unlawfully paid to it’s former Chief  Executive Officer in 2016.

In July 2022 the North Gauteng High Court reaffirmed a 2018 High Court judgement that it had reviewed and set aside in 2016 on the retirement agreement between Mr Molefe and the Power Utility.

The Power Utility said in terms of the agreement it had approximately paid R30 million to boost Molefe’s early retirement payout.
