ENCA NEWS reported that Collins Chabane Municipality Mayor Moses Maluleke has been shot dead.
Moses Maluleke was also the ANC Deputy Secretary General of the Vhembe region in Limpopo Province.
It is believed three men entered his home demanding money, the Mayor died on the scene while his 18 year old son is recovering in hospital.
Meanwhile, police have launched their 72 hour activation plan. National Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe confirmed the sad news.

She said a case of murder and attempted murder has been registered with the police following the shooting of the Mayor who died and the son who was left wounded.
