Lotteries Commission CEO, Philemon Letwaba, has been suspended.

The suspension follows a disciplinary hearing which was convened by the Lotteries Commission after allegations that Letwaba and his immediate family members benefited from organisations that received grants from the Lotteries Commission.

Although the disciplinary hearing found no evidence of any wrongdoing, the board decided to place Letwaba on precautionary suspension as the board believed that his continued stay would compromise investigations.

Letwaba was informed of his suspension through a letter witten to him by board member, Beryl Ferguson.
