Advocate Malesela Teffo, counsel for accused one to four in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has withdrawn from the case that is being heard in the Pretoria High Court.

He said his decision is based on the harassment he has been receiving from the state and from the court.

Teffo told the Court that the accused have been consulted about the decision. He said he took the case after he was approached by the families of the accused and the Meyiwa family.

He added that he is going to go back to what he used to be, that is being the watching brief. He went on to say he has feelings therefore he demands respect as a human.

Teffo told the Court that the harassment started even before he accepted the case. He said the harassment came from the police and the National Prosecuting Authority.

In addition he said his arrest in the court on the 28th of April 2022 was a plan hatched in the office of the President.
