ENCA NEWS reported that the death toll of the Soweto Tavern Shooting has risen to fifteen with two people in a critical condition at Bara Hospital.
A witness to the Soweto mass shooting said masked gunmen opened fire at the people in Nomzamo Tavern before fleeing the scene in a Toyota Quantum.
Police Commissioner Elias Mawela confirmed the incident to ENCA NEWS.
The residents of Nomzamo informal settlement including those who lost their loved ones revealed that this is a recurring incident in their area.
They said gunfire is heard regularly and this time around 14 people lost their lives.
The sad news come as South Africa is still mourning the passing of 21 teenagers at Enyobeni tavern in Scenery Park, East London in the Eastern Cape.
