Sunday World newspaper reported that actor Freedom Ngema who plays the role of Mazwi on Generations: The Legacy is embroiled in a battle over a love child he produced with his mistress after having an udulterous affair.
This was made public by Ngema in court papers he filed in the Johannesburg High Court last week. The actor is seeking a court order to allow him parenting rights over the child.
Ngema revealed that he was in an extramarital affair with a radio presenter who knew that he was married. The actor got married in 2004 to Ntombenhle Angel Gwala.
The affair happened in the period between 2019 and 2020, that is when the woman fell pregnant and gave birth.
The girlfriend has been denying the actor access to the child even on birthdays. They had initially agreed that the child will also be cared for by Ngema and his wife.
However the woman refused to sign the parenting plan.
