KZN Taxi Boss Shot Dead in Latest Industry Killing

NewsRoom Afrika has reported that the taxi industry in KwaZuluNatal is now on high alert after a spate of murders across the Province.

In the latest incident, a taxi owner was gunned down while in his vehicle in Verulam near Durban. Taxi violence has been unfolding for years in KwaZuluNatal.

A number of armed unknown gunmen attacked him by shooting bullets at his vehicle and he was declared dead on the scene.

Another taxi boss was gunned down in Pietermaritzburg near the taxi rank where his vehicles were operating from.

The killings are happening in broad daylight and last month another taxi owner was shot dead in Umhlanga in a similar incident.
