There was chaos at St George’s hotel in Centurion on Thursday evening when Military veterans held Minister of Defense Thandi Modise hostage.
The hostage drama lasted for about 2 hours before Minister of Police Bheki Cele saved the day by sending SAPS special forces.
According to media reports the MK Veterans are demanding R4 million each, medical aid, a housing allowance aswell as bursaries for their children.
The veterans are saying they sacrificed so much for the freedom of South Africa therefore they want to be paid for the fight they put up prior liberation.
It is reported that the veterans wanted President Cyril Ramaphosa to come and listen to their demands. When they heard that he was not coming they decided to go ahead with the hostage drama.
