Fashion stylist Tshiamo Modisane recently made her debut in the acting industry. Her character will highlight LGBTQI + representation on the mainstream television.
The beauty influencer will appear on SABC 1’s new tv series known as African Dreams. Tshiamo will portray a non-binary character Thabang Sithole.
Tshiamo is more excited about her role where she will appear in 13 episodes of the show.
She said, “I’m very excited, mostly because I’ve always seen myself behind the scene. Even though I’ve done a few acting cameos, having an actual character that appears in 13 episodes of the show is amazing.”
As someone who identifies as genderqueer, Modisane hopes that South African children in the LGBTQI+ community will see themselves reflected in her character.
Modisane was named the hottest chick of the year in 2019 at the Feather Awards. In 2018 she was the first non-gender con-forming brand ambassador for Lux.
